The revised version of HB 3618 includes additional lines that clarify the requirement for hospitals to notify patients about their outpatient status if they receive certain services for over 23 hours. This change is important because it ensures that patients understand their status, which can affect their insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs. By informing patients when they are considered outpatients instead of inpatients, the bill aims to promote transparency and protect patients from unexpected medical bills.
