What changed in the latest version
22 added · 53 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of SB 1907 clarifies how motor fuel taxes apply to different types of gaseous fuels like liquefied natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG), and propane. It now specifies that LNG and propane will be taxed based on diesel gallon equivalents, helping to standardize tax measures. Additionally, it states that there will be no fees on LNG that is imported or used by rail carriers or vessels for interstate commerce. These changes aim to promote the use of alternative fuels while ensuring a fair tax structure for fuel types that are gaining popularity.
