The bill SB 210, now called the Bath Salts Prohibition Act, was updated to emphasize the dangers of synthetic cathinones, commonly known as "bath salts." The changes highlight that these substances are often disguised as everyday products but have no legitimate use and pose significant public health risks. By clearly stating the issues associated with these synthetic drugs, the bill aims to strengthen regulations and increase awareness regarding their abuse. This matters because it can help prevent misuse and protect public health.
