What changed in the latest version

The updated version of SB 661 includes new definitions for key terms like "comprehensive physical examination," "health care practitioner," and "primary care." This amendment clarifies what is meant by a comprehensive examination and specifies the types of health care professionals included. The bill now specifically allows practitioners engaged in these examinations to offer hepatitis C screenings to individuals born between 1945 and 1965, which could help identify and treat more cases of this potentially serious disease. These changes are important as they enhance clarity and ensure that individuals in this age group are consistently offered necessary health screenings.
