The latest version of SB 1256 makes a significant change by allowing the sale of alcoholic beverages within 100 feet of a specific church in Chicago. This amendment could potentially impact local businesses and the community, as it may enable nearby establishments to expand their customer base by selling alcohol. This change matters because it addresses the long-standing restriction around church proximity, which could help support economic growth in the area.
