Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Senate Resolution 237 has broadened its focus from just PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal infections) and PITAND (Pediatric Infection-Triggered Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder) to also include PANS (Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome). This change matters because it highlights that PANS can be triggered by both infections and non-infectious factors, potentially improving treatment options for affected children. Additionally, the updated resolution emphasizes the importance of raising public awareness and support for families dealing with these disorders.
