Plain-language change summary

The bill HB 6226 has been updated to allow local governments to consult highway design publications that are not from a specific state department when constructing highways they own, provided certain conditions are met. This change is important because it offers local governments more flexibility and options in highway design, potentially leading to better road projects tailored to their specific needs. Meanwhile, a section that included penalties for misrepresentation related to construction projects has been removed, which may lessen the oversight on the accuracy of information in project submissions.
