The amendment changes the date recognition of National Correctional Officers' Week from "the first full week in May" to specifically recognizing the dates "May 1-7, 2016." This change is important because it provides a clear timeframe for the observance, allowing for more precise acknowledgment and appreciation of correctional officers' contributions during that particular week.
