The changes to Bill HB 5522 include the addition of a new section amending the State Mandates Act, which states that no reimbursement from the state is required for mandates created by this bill. Previously, local governments or school districts were required to maintain an Internet website with various public information if their budget exceeded $1 million. This new language is significant because it reduces the financial burden on the state while placing the compliance responsibility on local governments, potentially impacting how they manage their resources for public transparency.
