What changed in the latest version
276 added · 254 removedPlain-language change summary
In the latest version of SB 837, an important change was made: the Illinois Physical Therapy Act, which was previously set to be repealed on January 1, 2016, has now been extended and will instead be repealed on January 1, 2026. This extension allows for continued regulation of physical therapy practices in Illinois, which is significant for both practitioners and patients relying on these services. Additionally, the bill has removed a section related to the Nurse Practice Act, which suggests a shift in focus or priorities regarding nursing regulations. These updates reflect ongoing discussions about healthcare qualifications and the need for effective oversight in Illinois.
