The updated bill now requires law enforcement to make a reasonable attempt to contact not just the landowner but also any known lessee if an accident damages a fence that holds livestock. This change is significant because it ensures that anyone involved in managing the land, including tenants, is informed about potential hazards or damage. This could help prevent livestock from escaping and reduce the risk of further accidents or liabilities.
