Plain-language change summary

The revised version of SB 5900 now specifically focuses on creating provisional licenses for paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) from other states. This change simplifies the eligibility requirements by ensuring that applicants must hold valid licenses from their home states as well as national certification. Additionally, it removes the provision that required applicants to be employed or have a job offer from a Washington emergency medical services agency. This matters because it broadens access for qualified out-of-state professionals, potentially helping to address staffing shortages in Washington's emergency medical services.
