The updated version of Bill HB 5379 adds key provisions related to cost-sharing in health plans. It now requires that any payments made by insured individuals or others count towards their cost-sharing limits, ensuring that all financial assistance for prescription drugs is taken into account. Additionally, the new amendments will apply to all health plans starting from January 1, 2025, and prevent insurers from modifying coverage terms based on financial assistance availability. This change aims to make healthcare more accessible and fair for individuals who rely on financial aid for their medications.
