The latest version of HB 4883 includes an increase in annual salaries for certain state employees, specifically those in law enforcement roles, starting July 1, 2024. The salaries for positions such as training cadets and troopers have been raised significantly, with the starting pay for cadets increasing from around $50,824 to $53,724. This change is important as it aims to improve compensation for these critical roles, potentially enhancing recruitment and retention of personnel in the state’s law enforcement agencies.
