40 added · 1 removedPlain-language change summary
The amended bill now requires the state superintendent to provide an annual financial report specifically to the Legislative Oversight Commission on Education Accountability instead of both the Governor and the Legislature. This change aims to streamline reporting and focus accountability on a single oversight body. Additionally, the amendments clarify that school districts risk losing state funding if they fail to report their finances, highlighting the importance of transparency and compliance in managing school funds. This ensures that oversight is more targeted and effective.
