andar activities, empowering students to achieve their fullest WHEREAS, the faculty and staff of Braddock Elementary School work diligently with community partners to ensure the academic success and socio-emotional development of all students;
the school had 20 classrooms with a capacity for 600 students;
now, therefore, be RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Braddock Elementary School on the occasion of its 65th anniversary;
and WHEREAS, after a fire devastated Braddock Elementary School in February 1964, students finished the school year at the new Thomas Jefferson High School, which had not been scheduled to open until theWHEREAS, with support from the community, reconstruction of Braddock Elementary School commenced quickly, and the school reopened with a 10-room addition in 1964;
and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for the school's contributions to the Fairfax County community.
