The recent amendments to Bill HB 1933 specify that medical assistance benefits no longer include coverage for gender or sex reassignment surgery and related services. This change narrows the benefits available under the state's medical assistance program, potentially impacting access to necessary healthcare for individuals seeking gender transition. It is important to understand these changes as they can limit medical options for a vulnerable population and may lead to increased costs for individuals needing such services.
