Plain-language change summary

The amended version of HB 62 includes a section requiring the Department of Corrections to maintain electronic records of individuals entering its custody, specifically collecting their legal residence and demographic information starting from January 1, 2014. This now includes the last known address, racial identification, and age of the individual. The importance of this change lies in better tracking and understanding the population affected by incarceration, which could influence representation and resource allocation in the community following the decennial census.
