Plain-language change summary

In the latest version of Bill SB 2648, a new section has been added that gives the Department of Labor the authority to administer the Prevailing Wage Act and adopt rules to enforce it. This change is significant because it centralizes the oversight and implementation of the Act, which could lead to more consistent enforcement and clearer guidelines for workers and employers involved in public works projects. Additionally, the bill refined the definition of "public works" and introduced a definition for "hazardous trees," thus updating the language to better reflect current conditions and safety concerns related to public projects.
