Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 5326 introduces a provision allowing counties, townships, or municipal corporations to obtain permanent vehicle registration plates for a one-time fee of $8.00, specifically for vehicles used in community workplace commuting. This change is significant because it aims to support local government efforts in promoting ridesharing and reducing traffic congestion. Additionally, it clarifies that the Secretary of State will have the discretion over the design and color of the plates, as well as the authority to establish rules for implementation.
