The legislative amendment to HB 2013 includes a significant change that specifies the time requirement for the Hope Scholarship Program by adding the term "calendar" to clarify that the 45 days referenced are based on calendar days. Additionally, it removes the previous cap on the amount of Hope Scholarship funds a student can receive in a school year, which was set at $3,000. These changes matter because they potentially broaden the opportunities for students to access funding for education and provide clarity on the time frame for eligibility.
