Plain-language change summary

The updated version of HB 2918 shifts from creating a pilot program for Family Drug Treatment Courts in just four circuits to establishing a more permanent and comprehensive program statewide. This change is significant because it affects more families across West Virginia who may benefit from specialized drug treatment support. Additionally, the revised bill removes the requirement for annual reporting to the Legislative Oversight Commission, focusing instead on local advisory committees for ongoing oversight and quality assurance. Overall, these adjustments aim to enhance collaboration and improve services for families in need.
