The amendment to Bill SB 334 updates the procedures regarding complaints and investigations handled by the Virginia Board for Court Reporters. It clarifies that if an investigation does not confirm a complaint or result in corrective action, the identity of the individual involved will only be disclosed with their consent. This change is important because it enhances privacy protections for individuals while still allowing for transparency in the investigation process. Additionally, it consolidates the code references to remove any outdated sections, streamlining the legal framework governing court reporters in Virginia.
