Plain-language change summary

The revised version of SB 873 now focuses on standardizing how the Library of Virginia handles records related to unresolved complaints against regulated professions. It allows for the destruction of confidential records that result from complaints that are incomplete, withdrawn, or do not lead to disciplinary action after one year. This change is significant because it helps clear outdated information from records, ensuring that only relevant and actionable complaints are retained, which can protect professionals from unnecessary long-term consequences.
