Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 1863 changes the timeline for the Pennsylvania Commission to issue final orders on applications regarding acquired water and wastewater systems. Specifically, the deadline for issuing a final order has been extended from six months to nine months, with a potential three-month extension if proper notice is given to the applicant. This change matters because it allows the Commission more time to thoroughly review applications, which could lead to better decisions regarding public utilities and ultimately improve water and wastewater services for residents.
