The bill HB 1097 has been updated to clarify that the model curriculum about September 11, 2001, will be specifically "identified by the Department of Education." This small change emphasizes the department's responsibility in developing the curriculum. Additionally, the bill reiterates that while the curriculum will be made available for voluntary use, it will not mandate schools to adopt it. This distinction matters as it ensures schools can choose to incorporate the material based on their individual needs and resources.
