The amendment to HB 2311 removed the requirement for school entities to notify emancipated students directly about immediate mental health concerns. Previously, the bill mandated that both parents or guardians and emancipated students receive this notification and a list of mental health resources. This change simplifies the notification process, which could streamline how schools handle mental health issues, although it may limit direct communication with emancipated students regarding their mental health needs.
