91 Offered by Senators Camilleri, Cavanagh, Moss, Polehanki and Santana A RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE JANUARY 2026 AS MUSLIM AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH WHEREAS, Michigan is home to a diverse population that contributes to its cultural, economic, and social vibrancy, including its Muslim American residents;

and WHEREAS, Muslim Americans have been an integral part of the United States’ history and development since its founding, with contributions to fields such as science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), medicine, law, arts, education, business, and public service;
Whereas, Michigan is home to a diverse population that contributes to its cultural, economic, and social vibrancy, including its Muslim American residents;
and WHEREAS, Michigan is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Muslim American communities in the United States with deep roots in cities such as Dearborn, Hamtramck, Detroit, and beyond;
and Whereas, Muslim Americans have been an integral part of the United States’ history and development since its founding, with contributions to fields such as science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), medicine, law, arts, education, business, and public service;
and WHEREAS, Muslim Americans play a vital role in Michigan’s growth and prosperity, from automotive innovation to entrepreneurship, and their contributions continue to enrich our state in countless ways;
and Whereas, Michigan is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Muslim American communities in the United States with deep roots in cities such as Dearborn, Hamtramck, Detroit, and beyond;
