Plain-language change summary

The changes to HB 4085 include the addition of a requirement that women seeking an abortion after 7 weeks of gestation must be offered an opportunity to see an ultrasound of their unborn child before the procedure. However, they removed several lines that likely contained details or specifications surrounding the act, such as definitions or previously included legislative findings. This matters because it clarifies the intent of the bill to ensure that women are informed before making a decision about their pregnancy, while also maintaining flexibility for medical emergencies where the ultrasound may not be feasible.
