Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 539 has clarified how municipalities can approve redevelopment plans and projects, specifying that they must do so within a set timeframe following public hearings. Additionally, it now ensures that any redevelopment area designated must only include properties that will significantly benefit from the proposed improvements. This matters because these changes aim to provide more structure and transparency in the redevelopment process, helping municipalities better serve their communities and ensure that projects are beneficial for specific areas.
