What changed in the latest version

The recent amendments to Bill SB 3573 introduce a new section specifically addressing the valuation of water and sewer utilities, differentiating them from other public utilities. This change is important because it creates a more tailored framework for determining the value of smaller water and sewer services, which often serve fewer than 6,000 customers. The goal is to help ensure that rates and charges for these utilities are fair and based on appropriate assessments of their value, benefiting both the utility providers and the communities they serve.
