Plain-language change summary

The amendments made to Bill SB 2206 streamline the process for filling a candidate nomination vacancy when no one was on the primary ballot and no write-in candidates are nominated. Specifically, it allows the vacancy to be filled by a resolution, which could simplify and speed up the replacement process. This change is significant as it may help ensure that positions remain filled and that the electoral process is not disrupted due to unfilled nominations. Overall, it promotes clearer rules for handling unexpected election situations.
