Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 1835 removed a specific reference to Veterans Memorial Hall in Rockford, allowing more flexibility in where alcoholic liquors can be sold and delivered by fire protection districts. Instead, the focus is now on fire protection district buildings in general, still conditioning such sales on board approval and limiting them to fundraising events. This change broadens the scope of facilities that can participate in fundraising through alcohol sales, which may help increase revenue for various services within the district.
