The legislative amendment to SB 83 defines several key terms related to labor relations in Illinois, including "Board," "collective bargaining," and "confidential employee." Importantly, these changes clarify the roles of different labor panels and enhance the understanding of employee classifications within the context of labor negotiations. This matters because clearer definitions can help both workers and employers better navigate their rights and responsibilities, potentially leading to more effective bargaining and improved workplace conditions.
