Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 2943 extends the deadline for the hazardous waste management fee by five years, allowing the state to continue collecting this fee. This extension is essential for ensuring that the state can generate enough revenue to match federal grant funds that support hazardous waste management programs. This change helps maintain the state's ability to manage hazardous waste effectively and protect the environment without exceeding a set fee cap of $700,000 per year.
