Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Assembly Bill 932 now clearly outlines that the governor must allocate at least $20 million in federal funds to enhance apprenticeship and youth apprenticeship programs in Wisconsin. Key changes include a specific focus on raising awareness and participation in youth apprenticeship programs in school districts that currently have low engagement. Additionally, the bill aims to provide more funding for apprenticeship completion awards and improve connections between youth programs and traditional apprenticeships. These changes are significant because they aim to strengthen the workforce by investing in training opportunities for young people, addressing skills gaps, and ensuring greater access to career development.
