Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 2777 includes several key changes regarding home schooling regulations. One significant addition is the requirement that the county or state board must complete a review of any pending child abuse or neglect investigations before approving home instruction requests. Additionally, the bill now allows for provisional approval of home schooling while such investigations are active, ensuring that families are not unduly penalized while inquiries are ongoing. These changes are important as they aim to enhance child safety and oversight in the home schooling process while still offering families the flexibility to choose home education.
