Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Assembly Bill 239 specify that the governor will allocate $500 million from federal funds for broadband expansion grants, specifically aimed at improving internet access in underserved areas. Additionally, a new requirement has been added for the Public Service Commission to submit an annual report detailing the grants awarded, the criteria used for evaluations, and the performance of the recipients. These changes are important because they ensure transparency and accountability in how the funds are used, ultimately aiming to enhance internet access across Wisconsin.
