Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill SB 492 clarified the role of the Secretary of State and the State Election Commission regarding the handling of insolvent political committees. Specifically, it now details the procedures for determining insolvency, liquidating an insolvent committee’s assets, and terminating the committee. This change is important because it establishes clear guidelines for managing political committees that find themselves in financial trouble, ensuring transparency and accountability in the election process.
