Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill AB 232 includes specific provisions regarding payments to property taxpayers in Wisconsin. The changes clarify the payment process, specifying that taxpayers will receive an amount equal to approximately 10% of their 2020 property taxes, after considering any eligible credits or outstanding taxes. Additionally, the Department of Revenue must ensure that municipalities receive these funds promptly, which helps ensure that taxpayers won’t have to wait long for their assistance. This updates the bill to make it more efficient and transparent for both taxpayers and local governments.
