The recent amendments to Bill SB 267 extend the time frame for renewing and restoring expired or downgraded commercial driver's licenses from six months to five years, provided the individual presents a valid medical certification. This change is significant because it offers drivers more flexibility and time to regain their licenses, ensuring that those whose certifications have expired due to medical reasons can return to work without having to go through the lengthy initial testing process. This should help improve accessibility for commercial drivers in West Virginia and support the workforce more effectively.
