The recent amendments to Bill SB 76 clarify and expand on the definitions and terms related to the retirement benefits of Natural Resources Police Officers in West Virginia. This includes the addition of specific language about active military duty and how it will be considered in terms of pension calculations. These changes are significant because they help ensure that the retirement benefits for these officers are accurately calculated, reflecting their service and any parallel military duty, which could enhance their financial security in retirement.
