Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Senate Bill 520 made several key adjustments regarding the construction of a juvenile correctional facility in Milwaukee County. Notably, it now requires that the site for this facility has the support of the local governing body before construction plans can be approved. Additionally, the bill mandates that the Department of Administration report to the Joint Committee on Finance once the plans are reviewed and approved. These changes aim to ensure local community involvement and oversight in the project, which is significant for promoting transparency and addressing any public concerns about the facility.
