Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Assembly Bill 961 removes the provision that would have allowed state-chartered financial institutions to disclose account transaction information to the IRS if requested via a federal subpoena. This change means that these institutions must keep this information confidential, enhancing privacy for account holders. This matters because it protects individuals' financial data from federal scrutiny, aligning with the growing concerns about data privacy.
