What changed in the latest version
41 added · 53 removedPlain-language change summary
The revised version of HB 1273 includes a significant change: it now requires menstrual hygiene products to be accessible not only in gender-neutral and female-designated bathrooms for grades six through twelve, but also in bathrooms accessible to male students if a gender-neutral option is unavailable. Additionally, it expands the requirement to include schools serving grades three through five, ensuring products are available in health rooms or designated areas as determined by the school principal. This change matters because it promotes inclusivity and addresses the needs of all students, regardless of gender, during an important aspect of health and hygiene.
