Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Senate Bill 6264 introduces several important changes focused on enhancing collaboration between school districts and local tribes. It establishes a formal tribal consultation training program that school district directors and educational service board members must complete, with deadlines set for certification based on the size and needs of the districts. This training will address key issues such as identifying Native students and integrating tribal history into the curriculum. These changes are significant as they aim to improve educational outcomes for Native students by fostering better communication and understanding between schools and tribes.
