The amended version of SB 129 formalizes the Forest Sustainability Fund, ensuring that all revenue, including interest, earned from the fund stays allocated to it instead of reverting to the state's general fund. This change emphasizes the long-term availability of resources specifically for forest sustainability efforts. Additionally, localities seeking funding must submit their ordinances and revenue details annually by November 15, allowing for a more structured allocation of funds based on actual financial impacts. These updates help promote sustainable management of forest resources and provide local governments with clearer guidelines for accessing support.
