The revised version of Senate Bill 5325 changes the expiration date for the tax exemption on standard financial information from July 1, 2021, to July 1, 2031. Additionally, it clarifies that the exemption applies only to sales to qualifying international investment management companies without including affiliated persons, simplifying the requirements for tax-exempt sales. These changes are important because they aim to strengthen Washington's financial sector by keeping the tax environment competitive for large investment management firms, potentially fostering economic growth in the state.
