The revised version of Bill SB 5382 changes the regulations around tiny houses, allowing them to be used as accessory dwelling units anywhere, rather than just in designated urban growth areas. Additionally, it clarifies the requirements for tiny houses on wheels to meet certain safety standards and to provide necessary utilities for permanent living. This change is significant because it expands housing options and flexibility for those looking to live in tiny homes, potentially helping to address housing shortages in various communities.
