The amendments to SB 148 update the licensing system for hunting, trapping, and fishing in West Virginia by introducing an electronic issuance fee of at least $2 for each transaction. This fee will help support the administration and maintenance of the new electronic licensing system. Additionally, the bill emphasizes the collection of fees by county officials for issuing licenses while allowing the director to propose rules for handling applications submitted through electronic means. These changes aim to modernize the license issuance process and ensure better management of fees collected.
